Description
The lives of 15 of the most prominent figures in the history of the University of Padua are brought to life in a film that reflects on our future.
Written and directed by Denis Brotto.
Some of the brightest minds that have passed through this University open the doors to a journey projected into the future, to a collection of discoveries aimed at renewing a commitment to future generations. Galileo Galilei in dialogue with Erasmus of Rotterdam, Giovanni Battista Morgagni with William Harvey, Tullio Levi-Civita with Bruno Rossi, and then Elena Lucrezia Cornaro Piscopia, Pietro d’Abano, Giovanni Poleni, and many others return on the occasion of the University’s 800th anniversary to visit its landmarks, recounting its greatness, prestige, and evolution through the centuries.
The sciences, medicine, law, and the humanities reveal their origins and intertwine their destinies, while Palazzo del Bo, the Asiago Observatory, and the Museums of Padua embrace the various realms of knowledge—from microbiology to medical discoveries, from chemistry to astronomy, from literature to the arts.
