For over hundred and fifty years, the University of Padua has been at the forefront of the political-intellectual scene. Available only in Italian, the book looks inside the University, as a centre generating professional and political Italian elites. The book runs from the First World War, as a focal point for interventionist mobilization, to the dictatorship of World War II that turned a nation towards a fascism. All the while, marking Padua as a place where professors and students eradicated racial laws through an anti-fascists stronghold. The book highlights Rector Marchesi, the Italian Resistance, and the decisive role of the University in the Veneto liberation
